This is Coach Watson’s third season as the Senators’ Head Coach. He has been coaching at Sparkman High School for the last 16 years, serving as a freshman coach, middle linebackers coach, defensive coordinator and director of football operations. A native of Huntsville, he graduated from Buckhorn High School where he played both football and baseball. He spent 20 years in restaurant management before returning to Athens State to earn his Bachelors in Social Sciences and beginning his teaching career. He has been teaching world history at Sparkman for the last 9 years. He is married to Melanie and they have 3 children: Cody, Sara, and Allie, and four grandchildren.
