Recruiting Coordinator/ Wide Receivers
Coach Walter Jones III is entering his 11th year coaching high school football and his 2nd year at Sparkman High School where he serves as the wide receivers and return specialists coach. He has spent 6 years at Park Crossing in Montgomery, Alabama, where he had many roles as the recruiting coordinator, wide receivers coach, running back coach and spent some time on the defensive side of the ball as a linebacker coach for a short while. He also coached at Bob Jones High School in Madison, Alabama, for 3 years where he served under these same roles. As a recruiting coordinator, he orchestrated the signing of over 75 student-athletes to play on the college-level from Division 1 (FBS and FCS) to Junior College. He currently has four student-athletes in the NFL, one of whom he personally coached to the others he assisted in getting into college. Coach Jones also served in the United States Army for 8 years where he deployed to Iraq for Operation Enduring Freedom from 2009-2010. Coach Jones is married with 5 children. He also teaches Business Essentials at Sparkman Ninth Grade School.
